Our TA teaches POC entrepreneurs, artists, and leaders how to raise funds, manage their finances, recruit and develop board-level leaders, and build and market their programs.
Since 2016, GAP has provided subsidized access to high-quality technical assistance services for people of color (POC) led nonprofits and social enterprises in the creative economy that serve 51% or more POC, and operate with a budget under $2 million. While ABC’s physical programming takes place at our office in New York’s 14th Congressional District, the bulk of our services can be performed remotely, and we are able to serve M/WBEs across the United States.
Actually, it does! Technical assistance refers to “non-financial assistance provided by local or international specialists. It can take the form of sharing information and expertise, instruction, skills training, transmission of working knowledge, and consulting services and may also involve the transfer of technical data.” (But you don’t have to take our word for it—just ask UNESCO!)
That’s exactly what we do here. Our services are intended to fill in skills gaps, especially when it comes to fiscal management and knowledge of the funding landscape.
Our subsidized technical assistance is available to organizations, businesses, and social enterprises who are:
- working within the arts and/or STEM;
- majority led, governed, and staffed by people of color;
- serving a community that is at least 51% people of color; and
- operating with a budget under $2M.
ABC leverages grant funding and earned revenue to provide subsidized technical assistance to entities that are unable to take advantage of our services at market rate. As a result, the number of subsidized contracts we can accept at any given time depends on the amount of available funding.
Absolutely! Talk to programs@artsbusinesscollaborative.org to learn more about our standard contracts, and to find out if working with ABC is right for you.
